Another RootsWeb entry shows his father as Abraham Merry.

He came to America as an indentured servant.

There is a book called 'DESCENDANTS OF CORNELIUS MERRY' by Irwin & Isabella Merry, published 1968.

Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-33

On 17 October 1664 "Edmund Hart lately of Waymouth, planter," purchased of Praisever Turner of Northampton, miller, one-half of two parcels which Turner had purchased of Edward Griswold of Windsor, at Worronoco, "being seven or eight miles ... from Springfield": one-half of twenty-five acres of meadow, and one-half of twenty-five acres of upland meadow (the other half of each lot being sold to Cornelius Merrey)
