Notes:

from this page:
born c1608 Derbyshire England, death date
--
from a RootsWe entry:
death date and place, born c1603 CT (but that can't be right), children
--
Some genforum messages have his wife as Mary Camp. Others show Mary as his second wife, and being "the widow Camp". John's will refers to the Camp children as "son-in-law" (the common term for step-children at the time).
--
This page shows his wife being Mary Canfield, widow of Edward Camp.
--
This RootsWeb entry shows that Mary Canfield married Edward Camp c1640, then John Lane 1662-04-04. She had children with Edward from c1645 to 1655, which is after the dates for the children of John Lane. Mary Canfield was born 1625-01-01 Nazine, Essex ENG and died 1681-02-22 Milford, New Haven CT, so she can't be the mother of John Lane's children.
--
Some RootsWeb entries have his wife as Kattreen (unknown) 1607. (Note that he has a daughter Katherine.)
--
He seems to have come to America about 1634 or so. Note that his son's wife's father is also from Derbyshire England. Perhaps they immigrated together?
--
One LDS entry shows him with 6 wives: 5 are the Mary (unknown) in various forms, and the other is Mehitable Hobart 1610-11-04 Hingham ENG d/o Edward Hobart + Margaret Dewey. No children are shown for Mehitable.
RootsWeb entries show a Mehitable Hobart 1651-07-04 Hingham ENG married to John Lane 1648-01-20 s/o George Lane. There are some entries with Mehitable 1610. None of them show any children.
--
"Families of Ancient New Haven vol V" says his will mentions sons-in-law Jobanah Gunn, Samuel Camp,
and Edward Camp; dau-in-law Mary Camp; wife Mary; son Isaac; dau-in-law Mercy Baldwin; brother
William East.
