I think he served in the Civil War (Confederate), but he really wouldn't have been old enough.
A Wright S Rigsby filed for a pension in TN on 1899-09-11. The only other Wright S I know of was born in 1811, so was probably too old for the war. (And the other Wright lived in MO anyway).
