Did he also marry in Bertie Co 1808-07-xx Prudence Johnson? There were no other Rigsby families in Bertie Co at the time, so I think the Josiah who married Prudence was this one. If so, Prudence and not Winnie was the mother of William, Margaret, and Mary.
I think he must be a brother of the Ann Rigsby who married in Bertie Co NC 1797-08-04 Moses Capps.
There is supposed to have been a Richard Rigsby and a Thomas Rigsby born in Bertie Co before 1736. Either of them might be the father of this Josiah.
He was a shoemaker.
Did he have a son Jesse c1807? (And was that this Jesse?)
There was a Jesse Rigsby age 6 bound to Thomas Johnston in Bertie Co on 1813-11-08. This Josiah
was the only Rigsby in Bertie Co.
